Pero Antic’s Ankle Injury Halts His Floor Time
Back in January, Atlanta Hawks’ center, Pero Antic, cited a stress fracture in his right ankle and planned to recuperate for 2-4 weeks.
The 6-foot-11 Antic suffered a mild right ankle sprain in Atlanta’s loss against Brooklyn in London on Jan. 16. Antic continued to play in the next two games because X-rays didn’t reveal anything abnormal.
However, Antic followed up with an MRI, revealing the stress fracture. Antic, who is averaging 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds this season, will wear a protective walking boot.
Antic’s Basketball Antics Cost Him Another Ankle Injury
On March 26, 2014, Antic sat out again for an ankle injury. An injury always needs time to fully mend, but many athletes continue to put stress on the bones, joints and muscles. Time and professional care is needed to fully recover.
Jersey City, NJ Podiatry Offers Treatment for Fractures
We understand physically active people want to remain on their feet, which is why we offer electrical stimulation treatment to increase the speed of bone healing in ankle and foot fractures.
The bone has electrical qualities, so it maintains a dynamic balance between positive and negative charges. A bone fracture changes the polarity at the fracture site. The negative polarity indicates the bodies natural repair process has begun.
Electrical stimulation enhances the electrical polarity by inducing an electrical field at the fracture site, supporting the natural healing process of the fracture.
For more information about electrical therapy, please call our Jersey City, NJ Podiatry office at (201) 984-0231.
